GloriaFood Alternative: Best Options Before GloriaFood Shuts Down in 2027

GloriaFood is shutting down on 30 April 2027

Oracle bought GloriaFood in 2019 and folded it into Oracle Food and Beverage. Now it's closing it. GloriaFood stops working on 30 April 2027, and if you take online orders through it, you need to be on a different platform by then.

That sounds like plenty of time. It isn't, really. Rebuilding the menu, retraining staff and telling customers where to order now all take longer than you'd think, and March 2027 is a bad month to find that out.

What GloriaFood did

GloriaFood gave independent restaurants free or cheap online ordering. You got:

  • an ordering widget for your own website, branded as your restaurant
  • basic mobile ordering
  • simple menu management
  • order alerts on a tablet or phone
  • delivery zones

If you were doing modest order volumes and just wanted to start taking orders directly, it did the job.

What to look for in a replacement

The new platform has to cover what GloriaFood did. Past that, ask:

  • Is it a flat fee, or do they take a percentage of every order?
  • Does the ordering page look like your restaurant, or like their platform?
  • Will it connect to your POS, kitchen display and payments?
  • Can customers order from an app with your name on it?
  • Can you run loyalty, email and push campaigns from it?
  • When something breaks on a Friday night, who picks up the phone?
  • If you open a second or third site, can it cope?

The best GloriaFood alternatives

1. Flipdish - best if you want everything in one place

Flipdish online ordering covers the most ground of any option here for restaurants in the UK and Ireland. GloriaFood was an ordering widget. Flipdish does online ordering, branded mobile apps, self-service kiosks, a restaurant POS system, AI marketing and phone ordering.

What you get that GloriaFood didn't give you:

  • your own branded ordering on your website, app and kiosk
  • full POS integration, so online orders go straight to the kitchen
  • your customer data, plus the marketing tools to actually use it
  • AI phone ordering that takes phone orders alongside online ones
  • a dedicated support team in the UK and Ireland

Thousands of restaurant operators in both countries already use it. If you want more than a basic widget and you're serious about growing direct orders, start here.

2. Hungrrr

Hungrrr does branded apps and online ordering for UK restaurants and hospitality businesses. It's aimed at independents and small groups. For restaurants with several locations it does less than Flipdish.

3. Slerp

Slerp is a hospitality ordering platform with a clean checkout. It's built for coffee shops, bakeries and casual dining, not full-service restaurants or takeaways.

4. Preoday (now part of Access Hospitality)

Preoday does pre-ordering and table booking, mostly for venues where customers order before they turn up. If you cook and send orders out as they come in, it's not a good fit.

5. UpMenu

UpMenu is a restaurant website builder with ordering built in. It's cheaper and fine if your needs are simple. POS integration is thinner than Flipdish's.

How to migrate from GloriaFood to Flipdish

  1. Write down which GloriaFood features you actually use, and anything you've been missing.
  2. Export your customer data. GloriaFood may let you download a CSV - do it before the shutdown, not after.
  3. Rebuild your menu. Most platforms take a CSV import, or you can build it from scratch.
  4. Set up ordering on your website, in an app, or both, depending on your plan.
  5. Connect your POS. On Flipdish POS, orders go straight to the kitchen.
  6. Tell your customers. Email them, post on social and put signs up in-store pointing them to the new ordering page.
  7. Give them a reason to try it. A discount or loyalty bonus on their first order through the new platform works.

Flipdish offers migration support for restaurants coming off GloriaFood. Start early and you'll have longer to get order numbers back up before GloriaFood switches off.

Why act before April 2027

Leave it to the last minute and you'll be doing a migration in the middle of service. You could also:

  • lose your customer history if the export window closes
  • go days without online ordering while the new platform gets set up
  • confuse regulars with a rushed switchover

Start now, even though GloriaFood keeps running until April 2027. You can run both systems side by side for a while, spot what's missing and move customers across gradually.

How Flipdish helps

Flipdish does everything GloriaFood did and a lot more. For restaurants in the UK and Ireland that means online ordering, branded apps, POS, kiosks and AI tools for marketing to customers and taking orders on every channel, all from one company.
